The territory of the Kur winery is located in the southern part of the village of Aghavnadzor, in the area adjacent to the vineyards. On the western side it is bordered by a gorge, and on the eastern side by a dirt road, from which an entrance can be organized, preserving the only white willow.
As a result of the distribution of premises and rooms specified in the ToR, as well as taking into account the dimensions and orientation of the wind section, an L-shaped building was proposed.
The first building from prefabricated elements, with sandwich panels and a steel structure, contains rooms for grape harvesting and fermentation. Taking into account the height of the wine storage barrels required for fermentation, the inclination of the roof is 22 degrees, which is the most effective inclination for solar panels, while maintaining the number of barrels required by the task.
The second building for bottling, ageing, and tasting will be covered with a local Areni stone or a gabion from the field stones. We think it would be interesting to use as many local materials as possible from the area, so we propose to use stones already removed from the ground using gabion technology as the façade cladding material. The structural solution of this building is planned to be implemented with a reinforced concrete frame.
The administrative part is located on the roof of the second building and has a deviation from the main structure to reveal an interesting landscape of the area. The administrative rooms are located here, as well as an entrance to the roof of the second building, which can become a green roof – a garden where various events can take place, as well as acquaintance with grape varieties.
